What this site collects, why, where it is kept, and how to have it changed or deleted.
- 01
Who is responsible
This website is operated by Thomas Olsen, a REALTOR® with Real Broker. Thomas is responsible for the personal information collected here. Questions, requests and concerns go to thomas@olsenco.ca or 780-966-3929.
- 02
What is collected
When you send a note, book a consultation or ask about a listing: your name, email, phone number, your message, and the listing or area you asked about.
When you text Olsen & Co.: your phone number and the messages you send.
When you browse: anonymous page-view statistics, collected without cookies, to see which pages are useful.
When you view an MLS® listing: a random identifier stored in a cookie on your device (crea_uuid) is sent with the view to The Canadian Real Estate Association, which requires listing-view statistics. It does not contain your name or contact details.
- 03
Why
To reply to you, arrange showings and consultations, and keep track of the conversation while Thomas is helping you buy or sell. Your information is not sold.
- 04
Where it is kept
Thomas uses service providers to run the site and his business records: website hosting, a database, text messaging, scheduling (Calendly, under its own privacy policy), and AI assistants that help draft replies and organize his records. Some of these providers are outside Canada, including in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws there.
- 05
How long it is kept
Text messages and website inquiries: up to 12 months. Contact details and notes for clients and prospects: while Thomas is working with you, and afterwards for as long as his professional record-keeping requires. System logs: about 90 days.
- 06
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information Thomas holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where it is no longer needed. Email thomas@olsenco.ca or call 780-966-3929. You can clear the listing cookie in your browser at any time.
If a concern isn't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
